The research aims to provide decision support to cloud adopters with their workload placement decisions. The key differentiating feature of the research is the data-driven guidance by using Case Based Reasoning (CBR) and Rule-Based Reasoning (RBR). The main advantage of CBR is that it can leverage the technical expertise of Telstra Cloud consultants that has been captured in previous cloud migration projects while RBR leverages expert knowledge to specify business rules that provide a cloud platform recommendation. The recommendation can then be used to guide future cloud migration decisions even in the presence of incomplete information.
