The thesis presents a novel Cyber-physical-social-awareness (CPSA) platform designed to enhance situation awareness by intersecting Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and social media data. It proposes semantic situation models for describing events across diverse information spaces, offering techniques for mapping and intersecting IoT sensor observations with social media postings. The CPSA platform is evaluated for reliability to enhance situation awareness, particularly in disaster management scenarios. The work contributes significant advancements in semantic data integration and comprehensive situation awareness, demonstrating the platform's ability to manage and interpret large volumes of heterogeneous data for comprehensive situation awareness by leveraging the strengths of both IoT and social sensors.
