This thesis compared how accurately the Level of Personality Functioning Scale – Self-Report, and the Personality Inventory for DMS-5 (both intended for use with the Alternative Model for Personality Disorders from the DSM-5 reliably and validly measured personality disorders when compared to an established measure of personality disorder - the Personality Diagnostic Questionaire - 4th Edition, within a male Australian prisoner population. Additionally, the relationship between the level of impairment and pathological personality traits with the participants' history of aggression was investigated. This provided further information on screening for personality disorders in prisons.
