Software testing is an integral part of software development, yet this discipline lacks enough research attention. This research was conducted to outline the unit tasks of software testing, to find what factors are influential to the performance in this role, to devise a way to assess performance in this role and to find significant differences in personality between software testers and others. The findings of the research will benefit organizations to design software testing roles and to recruit appropriate person. The young IT graduates can also obtain knowledge of software testing roles and can select appropriate IT career for themselves.
