For the development of a highly functional and reinforced IL-Lignin based epoxy composites, triethylammonium hydrogen sulphate ionic liquid (IL) was introduced onto the surface of lignin particles while it was extracted from native Australian sources, i.e. Acacia mangium and pinus radiata. The new IL-Liquid soultion obtained from Australian Acacia has also been used, due to its higher yield, to modify an existing commercial resin for processing through a vat-photo polymerisation 3D printing method. The thermal, mechanical and morphological properties of the composites sample were studied to develop photocurable 3d printed IL-Lignin based thermoset resin solutions suitable for conventional stereolithography technique.
