Land use land cover classification and oil palm detection in Sarawak using Landsat-8 and the Open Data Cube

This study aimed to classify land use land cover (LULC) in Betong, Sarawak using Landsat-8 data, machine learning and the Open Data Cube. This study developed and compared the performance of machine learning models for LULC classification. From the LULC generated, the thesis focused specifically on analysing oil palm land use trends in Betong and its environmental impacts. Hence, providing valuable information for oil palm land use management in the focus area.
