This qualitative study examined the changes to craft practices in central Vietnam in the context of global-local nexus to better understand the adaptation of local craft practice to globalisation since the opening up of Vietnam in 1986. A research framework was developed though literature review and used as a theoretical basis for data collection and analyses of three key tangible and intangible aspects of craft. Implications from this study offered insights into the nature of changes to village pottery-making in central Vietnam, contributing to generate some recommendations to maintain the significance of local craft practices in the face of changes.
