This research investigates construction and commissioning related risks leading to energy performance gap in commercial buildings. Energy performance gap, which is a significant problem, is a discrepancy between as-designed and as-built energy performance of a building. The ultimate outcome of this research is a risk management framework, which incorporates all the research findings into a single tool. The framework helps to facilitate the risk management during construction and commissioning of energy-efficient commercial building projects. Therefore, it helps to reduce the chance of energy performance gap occurred. This benefits practitioners, especially contractors and project management, in managing energy-efficient commercial building projects.
