‘Diversity Management’ emerged as an organizational response to address institutionalized systemic barriers and discrimination faced by marginalized groups in the workplace. The progression of Diversity Management however saw a shift in focus, where emphasis on economic advantages from a diverse workforce gained increased momentum. This raised concerns as to whether organizations valued diversity only for profits whilst undermining justice and fairness in the workplace. Pradeepa’s’ thesis, through qualitative case study inquiry, explores contemporary diversity management practices of 23 Australian workplaces and argues that justice and fairness is central to managing workforce diversity.
