The aims of this thesis were to advance the youth family violence literature by investigating the mental health and mental health service utilisation of youth family violence users and youth family violence victims (including sub-types), as well as provide an understanding of the temporal relationship between these factors and incidents of youth family violence. Such research holds benefits for the justice and mental health sectors as it helps inform the assessment and treatment of youth family violence users and youth family violence victims, which can contribute to the reduction and prevention of youth family violence in the community.
