Fifteen (15) mentor behaviours identified by more than 30 subject matter experts in Australian aviation was developed to form a Mentor Behaviour Questionnaire. The questionnaire was issued to a cohort of Australian commercial and airline transport pilots to further understand what good mentor behaviour "looks like" to a cross-section of Australian pilots. These variables are age, gender, age, flying time and training phase. A total of 157 pilots responded to the questionnaire. Comparisons were made using the variables against all the 15 Mentor behaviours to understand the level of agreement (on a 7-point Likert scale) of the respondents to each of the mentor behaviours. The results of the comparisons are reported to further provide practical research support in developing practical guidance to aviation mentoring programs.
