Conducting integration testing is a challenging task because production systems are generally neither suitable nor available for software testing and the cost to replicate such an environment is usually too high. Testing environment emulation is an emerging technique for creating a testing environment with realistic executable models of production-like behavior. Aiming to achieve high development productivity and ease of use, we have developed a novel domain-specific modeling approach for testing environment emulation. Our approach is based on model-driven engineering, where developers work on high level abstraction models and executable code will be generated by transforming these models using code generators.
