This thesis is primarily concerned with developing the analytic models of regular (single-path) and multipath TCP over the last mile Cellular and WiFi networks; investigating the fairness of bandwidth sharing among users; identifying the root causes of unfairness, if any, and obtaining insights as to how fairness could be reinstated. These efforts have been made to find ways by which the wireless channels can be made more reliable and highly performing anytime and anywhere such that the business applications and infotainment services are available to us on the move.
