The thesis explores theoretical modelling of compact binaries in both isolated and dynamical scenarios, from the perspective of radio pulsar and gravitational wave observations. The evolution of all three types of compact binaries -- double neutron stars, neutron star-black holes, double black holes are investigated in their arguably dominant formation channels. Isolated binary evolution of double neutron stars and neutron star-black holes are studied using population synthesis. Evolution and interactions of black holes in dynamical environment of star clusters is investigated using N-body simulation. The thesis explains current observations and presents predictions for future radio and gravitational wave detectors.
