The overarching aim of this thesis was to: 1) examine the prevalence of social anxiety in psychosis and its psychosocial outcomes in order to provide clinicians and the research community with a reliable estimate of current prevalence and specific treatment considerations, 2) to develop a world-first, innovative and engaging moderated online Cognitive-behavioural-therapy based intervention to treat social anxiety as a primary treatment concern in young people with first-episode psychosis and 3) to test the feasibility, acceptability, safety and preliminary effectiveness of the moderated online social intervention in order to inform future research.
