Natural gas sweetening is one of the most important treatment processes in natural gas industry. Despite the extensive research in natural gas sweetening area, there are only few works devoted to natural gas sweetening using K2CO3 solvent, where the focus were mainly on the feasibility of promoters, and sensitivity analysis based on open-loop process ( standalone unit without recycling). Thus, this thesis presents the actual process performance by simulating the actual process configuration (i.e., closed-loop process) and subject the simulated process to a novel two-step multi-criteria optimisation to arrive at optimum operating conditions that lead to better process performance.
