Dr. Collins explored how memory recall relates to psychological functioning and well-being in mid-life adults. She showed how secure and insecure relationship styles (developed from early attachment experiences) influence the way in which people recall self-defining memories and create their personal narratives and the impact on psychological health and well-being. The research has implications for effective interventions that reduce psychological vulnerability and simultaneously improve psychological growth.
