This qualitative study explores how self-concept and leader/coworker social exchanges influence perceptions of covert mistreatment (CM) and lead to counterproductive behaviours (CWB) among South Asian immigrants in Australia. Using attribution, social exchange, and equity theories, findings reveal key mechanisms linking CM to CWB, extending theoretical applications and offering actionable recommendations to mitigate CM in workplaces.
