The evolution of foam structure occurs in response to drainage processes. This thesis investigates drainage in foam at the microscale in three-dimensional models, and considers the distinct influence of the Plateau border and node elements of the network. The study focuses on the effect of particles in determining drainage rates on foam lifetime and is important to a wide and expanding use of foams in industrial processes. The economic and responsible management of resources can be advanced through innovations significant to resource retrieval and pollution control and through the creation of new materials that minimize the use of scarce resources.
