This thesis focuses on the reasoning frames applied during strategic decision making on novel ideas in innovation management. Based on literature, exploring the future potentials of novel ideas at their early stage is deemed beneficial to improve decision accuracy. A proprietary framework referred to as the Innovation System Roadmap is the main outcome of this research which embeds, stimulates and activates futures-oriented reasoning to support innovation managers making sound decision on novel ideas under extreme uncertainties and dynamic society and market.
