This thesis addresses the cellular networks congestion problem due to ever-increasing data demand. Since video services are the primary contributor of data traffic, in this thesis, we focused on optimizing the video delivery in mobile networks through edge caching. In edge caching, the data is stored on a small server or edge cloud deployed at the base station and significantly reduces the network load. We propose solutions to efficiently cache multi-bitrate regular videos and 360-degree videos on the edge cloud. We also propose a solution to enable 360-degree video streaming in cellular networks by reducing the bandwidth requirement.
