This research aims to address the knowledge gap of understanding the behaviour of in-service thin asphalt surfaces and sprayed seals operating in different climates and environments. Multilevel modelling approach was used to develop comprehensive models that include all available contributing factors to each distress of asphalt and sprayed seal and asses their effects in different operating and climatic conditions. This will help researchers and road asset managers get a better understanding of how the interactions between the different influencing factors affect the performance of these surfaces, when in-service, and their deterioration trends.
