This research investigated the cutting-edge technology nanophotonics to enhance the light absorption in the silicon wafer solar cells thereby an energy conversion efficiency boost. One achievement of this research is to use low cost and innovative aluminium nanoparticles to enhance the solar cell efficiency and the other is to use plasmonic nanoparticles to maintain the solar cell efficiency while the thickness of the material is reduced. This research provides a low cost solution for the high efficiency solar cells, which would promote the solar cell development as one of the promising renewable and clean technologies.
