Premature menopause: the experiences of women and their partners

Premature menopause is menopause occurring before the age of 40 and occurs in roughly two percent of women. This research involved in depth interviews with women and their partners to understand the psychological aspects of the condition, which has significant emotional and health consequences. It is the first time the men's experience has been examined. The work will be beneficial to health professionals in developing sensitive guidance for those facing this often distressing condition.
