The main objective of this research was to assess different strengthening material in improving the punching shear capacity of slabs. Behaviour of slabs with different strengthening methods was examined via two phases of the experimental program, followed by extensive numerical simulations and parametric studies. The first phase of this research studied punching shear behaviour of HSC slabs by testing three large-scale RC slabs, simulating an interior slab-column connection. The second phase of this research investigated the efficiency of using L-CFRP laminate as shear reinforcement on the punching shear behaviour of slabs by testing four large-scale RC slabs.
