This study explored the perceptions of teachers and parents regarding quality preschool education in Arequipa, Peru. Using Bronfenbrenner’s proximal processes, semi-structured interviews, and Leximancer software, the study revealed that participants viewed children as central to education, emphasizing a holistic approach beyond academics. Collaboration between teachers, parents, the community, and government was seen as key to quality education. Participants highlighted the need for adequate infrastructure, resources, and support, particularly in rural areas, and advocated for the implementation of educational quality standards. The study called for including these voices in shaping educational policies in Peru.
