Sandwich structures are being utilised in a wide range of applications. Cellular materials with high energy absorption are ideal for cores in the packaging, locomotive, vehicle and aerospace industries. Mass optimisation in industrial applications can save energy consumption and benefit the environment with diverse combinations of specified core and material typologies in sandwich panel fabrications. This research conducted a computational investigation on modelling foam cores using Voronoi techniques. A systematic study with experimental, numerical and analytical investigations on metal Miura-ori core sandwich panels followed.
