Rainwater is a very popular alternative water resource in Adelaide, South Australia. In Adelaide, fewer studies have been done regarding optimal sizing of rainwater tanks for the specific site conditions. This research will provide in depth understanding on water saving efficiency, reliability and cost effectiveness of the rainwater harvesting system so that user can select the proper tank even in the critical dry period. Also, outcome of this research will be helpful for government authorities in managing current and future water demand as well as justifiable disbursement of government incentives for the promotion of rainwater harvesting system in the community.
