My research into enterprise architecture implementation is motivated by the concern that organizations have difficulty in implementing large-scale information technology projects. Enterprise architecture implementation failure represents a significant financial and reputational loss for organizations and is potentially related to the challenges that enterprise architects face in aligning their interpretations of what is important in an enterprise architecture implementation with the interpretations of business and technology stakeholders. The contribution of this research is that it makes suggestions for improving the implementation practices of enterprise architects and the outcome of enterprise architecture implementation initiatives.
