This thesis addresses the problems of resource-efficient and secure vehicle platooning to improve the communication efficiency confronting constrained resources and enhance the platoon security performance under various potential security threats. Through the proposed vehicle platooning control strategies, explicit improvements in traffic safety, highway throughput and fuel economy can be observed, which benefit our travel comfort, environmental protection and transportation efficiency, thereby promoting the development of human society and global economy.
