The cement industry plays a vital role in global development, yet it is known to generate tremendous waste, notably CO2 and cement kiln dust (CKD). This research introduced an innovative CO2 capture process, the potable water-operated Accelerated Weathering of Limestone process, to convert CO2 into a Ca(HCO3)2 solution. Following this, a novel CO2 utilization process was developed to transform CKD and sand, using the Ca(HCO3)2 solution, into sustainable green building materials. The research effectively converts waste into valuable products, offering dual benefits: potential profitability and reduced environmental impact for the cement industry, which propels the world into a greener future.
