This research has examined the settlement experiences of Bangladeshi Migrants, who are one of the fastest growing communities in Australia. Based on 210 surveys and 52 semi-structured interviews conducted among the Bangladeshi skilled migrants living in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, this study reveals the challenges Bangladeshi migrants face in Australia. Special attention has been paid to the reasons behind migration, migrants' attachment with home and host culture, and also women's role and attainment in the migration and settlement process. The study concludes with policy recommendations which include the need for additional support to be given to the newly arrived to help to minimise unnecessary dislocation. Furthermore, proper and effective government support is required for migrants to integrate into the labour market.
