Social enterprise and sustainability in the nonprofit sector: A theoretically grounded approach

This thesis provides a performance based theory of financial sustainability for social enterprises in the nonprofit sector in South Asia drawing on field research conducted with social enterprise organisations in Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. The research adopts grounded theory method (GTM) for data collection, analysis and theory generation. Guidelines are provided for practitioners in how to operationalise the theory.
