Water pollution poses a significant risk to life, and developing effective decontamination measures is fraught with difficulties. Adsorption is a pragmatic technological solution, leading to the development of cost-effective adsorbents for various contaminants. This study presents a modified approach for the synthesis of graphene oxide, a highly effective carbonaceous material. Following this, porous three-dimensional graphene oxide-based macrostructures were synthesised, and were shown to be robust, easy to apply to water and to regenerate post-use. These adsorbent structures proved to be highly effective at removing large quantities of pollutants wastewater with a diverse range of contaminants.
