The current study provides a measure of ability emotional intelligence (EI) in children and pre-adolescents and thus addresses the lack of sufficient measurement indices of EI in the target population. Furthermore, the study provides evidence of the potential utility of implementing EI programs within the school curriculum as an avenue for prevention and intervention of bullying and victimisation in schools.
