Live observation and single-cell tracking of T cells by fluorescence microscopy and image cytometry may hold the key to the realization of how T cells participate in the immune response. The development of novel strategies to aid the interpretation of information collected by fluorescence time-lapse imaging, and how they can be used to improve our analysis of live cell imaging, are the main subjects of Raz Shimoni`s thesis. By developing a computational platform for bioimaging and lineage informatics known as TACTICS Toolbox, immunologists can now explore key insights such cell polarity and asymmetric cell division in T cells.
