Businesses that have sustainable business models are expected to achieve performance on the economic, social and environmental level. The simultaneous management of these three levels generates synergies and tensions in those firms. As firms are also aiming for scalability, it is likely the scalability of their sustainable business models might bring their own challenges in addition to existing ones. This study explores these interactions through a single qualitative case study. It identifies a network of interactions between the two concepts of sustainable business models and scalability also showing how nuanced these interactions can be.
