This thesis seeks to make a significant original contribution to knowledge by exploring the impact of Australia's and the United States' differing normative backgrounds on the development of internet businesses in each nation. Specifically, this thesis seeks to understand the implications of these legal and political cultures on the regulatory regimes of each nation, as they pertain to the internet, and the effect these regimes have had on internet businesses.
