This research explored the value and relevance of Australian Industrial Design education at four different education levels. Surveys and interviews were used to identify the presence of skills, knowledge, and personal qualities recommended for 21st century citizens. The research found that Australian Industrial Design education imparts an extensive range of valuable capabilities to students, especially at university level. The findings support course writers in justifying changes to their curricula, and provide data that can communicate the value and relevance of Industrial Design education to policy makers and the wider community.
