Studying the changing and hybridising Thai concept of home at the conceptual level of space and architecture in Bangkok following the modernisation policies and processes of Rama IV (r. 1851-1868) with the peaks of Rama V (r. 1868-1910) and IX (r. 1946-2016), and the short-lived reign of The People’s Party (1930-1946) provides an alternative view of how the Thai identity of Bangkok has been shaped and reshaped with the hybridisation between the Western influences and local culture from the 1850s to present.
