The high consumption of processed foods and the low intake of plant-based and fish-based products risk prematurely affecting the health and cognitive performance of young adults, who should be at the peak of their professional life. Despite the health risks associated with omega-3 deficiency, fish consumption in the Western world is decreasing. This thesis showed that a daily dose of omega-3 fatty acids has the potential to improve cognitive performance and leads to significant changes in visual functioning and brain function in 18 to 40 year old healthy adults.
