This thesis aims to study the angular momentum (AM) properties of galaxies and shows how AM affects various observable galaxy properties such as the amount of neutral Hydrogen (HI) gas in galaxies, their star formation efficiency and morphology. HI gas is the primary fuel for stars to form in galaxies. By studying the role of AM in regulating the HI gas, we are able to better understand a key factor in galaxy evolution, while also serving as a benchmark for future simulation studies of galaxies. These are two important contributions of this thesis to the field.
