This thesis shows the importance of environmental processing of galaxies within small, HI-rich groups using primarily atomic hydrogen gas, other multi-wavelength observations and insights from simulations. The sample of galaxy groups used in this thesis represents an excellent laboratory to study galaxies in low-density environments and analyse the role of the environment in galaxy evolution. This study gives us insights and brings us closer to knowing the minimum density scale at which the environment starts affecting the gas content of galaxies.
