The origins of contemporary slavery in Pakistan

This research is based on an analysis of the historical literature on slavery in and after the partition of the Indian subcontinent at the end of British rule in the mid-twentieth century. The thesis outlines how historical circumstances played a crucial role in the evolution of slavery in contemporary Pakistan.
