The thesis contains a theoretical justification of a method for evaluating Landau constants appearing in low-dimensional models of various fluid flows. Subsequently, this method is applied to study mixed thermomagnetic and thermogravitational convection in an inclined layer of a non-isothermal ferrofluid placed in an external magnetic field. The results of this study shed light on the intricate interaction between thermogravitational and thermomagnetic mechanisms of convection. This knowledge is of importance for designing perspective heat management systems using ferrofluid as a heat carrier medium and operating in environments where natural convection is either absent or too weak to ensure an efficient heat removal because of the lack of the gravity (space stations) or extreme confinement (microelectronics).
