Transaction analysis in the Bitcoin blockchain

thesis
posted on 2024-07-30, 05:50 authored by Limeng Zhang
As Bitcoin is now universally recognized by both academic and industrial communities, an increasing number of Bitcoin transactions are expected to be populated to the Bitcoin blockchain. Unfortunately, due to the limited block capacity, each time only a certain number of transactions can be confirmed, leading to common confirmation delays. This thesis provides insights into estimating the confirmation time for the unconfirmed transactions, as well as helping users set appropriate fees when submitting new transactions. In addressing these issues, we analyze the confirmation process in terms of the transaction itself, transaction competition in the system, and the block mining environment.
