Polydopamine has drawn enormous attention of various researchers from diverse backgrounds due to its remarkable properties. This research project aims to develop an eco-friendly approach for the fabrication of polydopamine-based hollow capsules and their utility for drug loading and controlled release under various stimuli conditions. The outcomes of this research project provide a better insight into using polydopamine -based hollow structures effectively as a drug carrier platform for biomedical applications. Along with its conventional purpose for drug delivery, this work also demonstrated that advanced drug carrier platforms such as Fe3O4@ polydopamine hollow rod could be multi-functional and used as a weaponized material to fight against bacterial biofilm in the era of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
