Rosie Dub's practice-led PhD consists of a novel titled 'Flight' and an accompanying exegesis which explores the motives, techniques and theoretical background to the writing of 'Flight'. Set in contemporary Australia, this 'coming to self' novel follows the journey of a young woman as she faces her past. The exegesis draws on theory from a range of academic disciplines, while embracing the vernacular in order to give voices to specialists outside of academia. It explores the way in which the structure of story provides a map of the individuation process. Both works are enriched by theoretical research, practical experience and personal reflection.
